Residential Training
A realistic, everyday approach to training your dog.
What is Residential Training?
Your dog will live and train in the comfort of my home. No kennels, No tie backs to walls, no worries.
-
Whether you’ve just welcomed a new dog into your home or want to ensure they grow up well-behaved, I will establish solid obedience and structure from day one.
-
Our Training Program is designed to replicate everyday life in a home environment, making their transition back to your home seamless and easy for owners to continue training.
-
I take your dog on structured outings to parks, beaches, and busy environments, ensuring they listen and stay focused even with distractions.
-
Heading away on a trip? Why not have your dog trained at the same time? They’ll be cared for and trained by a professional—so you come back to a better-behaved dog!
-
The MOST important part of their training will be making sure we set you up for success after their time in our home. We will have a formal handoff, followed by 4 follow-up sessions consisting of 2 in your home and 2 in public.
Here’s Why It Could Be The Perfect Choice For You:
How It Works
A step-by-step of a residential stay with Tom at Wild Rover K9.
Pre-stay Phone Consultation
We will have an in depth conversation to learn about your dog and their behaviors which will help us determine if our program is an amazing fit (Remember, this is our home). We will also gain an understanding of your goals and develop a custom training plan. Additionally, we will answer any questions you may have.
Meet and Greet
This is a structured introduction between Trainer, Pet and Owner to ensure compatibility, discuss expectations and observe their new home environment.
Initial Handover
It’s time to get started!!! Our goal is to make the transition a stress-free experience for you and your dog, rest assured that day 1 is dedicated to making your dog feel at home.
Time to Train!!!
My belief is that each and every interaction with your dog is a training opportunity, there is no better way to build positive behaviors.
Your dog will live and train in a well structured home environment with proper boundaries and guidance all designed to help them thrive in everyday home life.
Structured walks around our neighborhood which also act as socialization and confidence building for the smells, sights and sounds of everyday life.
Formal training sessions for the commands and skills outlined in your custom training program.
Formal outings to parks, beaches and busy environments where we focus on helping them listen and remain calm.
If appropriate, formal play sessions and training with our model dog to reinforce positive experiences and play habits.
The Hand-back
This will be a session of up to 2 hours where I will cover everything your dog has learned. I will also demonstrate the everyday rules and boundaries that you will need to keep in place in order to keep up with their training. You will receive a written guide with instructions for your newly trained dog.
Follow Up Sessions (4)
2 Days after handoff in your home.
1 Week later in your home and around your neighborhood.
2 Weeks after handoff in a public setting.
1 Month after handoff in a setting of your choosing.
